I saw a pain management doctor today, . He wrote me a script for Norco (hydrocodone, Tylenol 10/325 mg, 90, 3 times a day). He wrote an additional script for the same thing but put on the script that it could not be filled for one month (), which is kinda like a refill. But anyway..I was taking Norco 10/325 x6/day and was feeling tolerant and advised my doc. You may have been prescribed Tylenol 3 or Tylenol 4 in the past. Both have 300 mg of acetaminophen mixed with either 30 mg of codeine or 60 mg of codeine (in the Tylenol 4). While really good for short-term pain—evidence shows that it’s just as good as acetaminophen + hydrocodone— codeine is not recommended for chronic pain management. Treats mild to moderate pain. Acetaminophen with codeine (acetaminophen / codeine) is a good option to treat pain when over-the-counter medicines aren't enough, but don't take too much acetaminophen (Tylenol) since it can hurt your liver. Tylenol 4 has 40 mg of codeine that is for sure, so depending on what strength of pill your comparing it to , I am not sure what the comparison rate to hydrocodone would be , maybe wrong here but 40mg codeine may be close to 5mg hydro. but please dont burn me if I'm wrong. thank you Each Norco is equivalent to taking 2 regular strength Vicodin's.
